The Nakoma Resort offers a spectacular setting in the High Sierra which includes The Dragon Golf Course at Nakoma. There are two things that I believe any golfer will walk away from The Dragon believing. One, it is one of the most challenging layouts around. There are a number of forced carries, lots of uneven lies to be found, and some seriously undulating greens. Two, it is one of the most picturesque golf courses on the planet. Normally I can single out one picture that is the obvious choice to be the thumbnail for a course. But take a look at the photos below and you will see why choosing that one showpiece picture was such a challenge.

The other highlight at Nakoma, especially for any Wisconsinite, is the stunning Frank Lloyd Wright-designed clubhouse. Originally designed for Nakoma Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin in 1923, the building was never started. After laying dormant for all those years, the plans were purchased in 2001 and the building was constructed in the Mohawk Valley. It is certainly one-of-a-kind and the view at dusk from the patio is truly one of the best 19th hole settings around.
