Gray’s Crossing is a terrific Peter Jacobson design which combines with it’s sister course, Old Greenwood, to form a dynamic duo in the Truckee, CA area. The first thing that struck me when I arrived for an early morning round at Gray’s Crossing was the style and feel of the buildings on property. For any movie buffs out there, if the Cullen family of Twilight fame built their own golf course, their clubhouse and restaurant would look a lot like what you find at Gray’s Crossing.

I found no blade of grass out of place and thought the layout was absolutely fantastic. There are some awesome elevation changes, tons of strategic bunkers in play, and the greens were in mint condition. Gray’s Crossing rewards aggressive shots with better angles to the flagstick, but also allows for the conservative shot. To me, that is the definition of a fair golf course.
